With the motor, flotation foam and rigging out, you really can see the extent of the damage. Port side is completely affected. Both stringers all cross walls and the ski locker floor and its stringer are rotted. Next step, remove all damaged wood and grind the interior hull clean.
Structural and Fiberglass Lamination
The replacement stock for the main stringer is vertical grain Douglas fir shaped to match the hill form. The new stringer is then bonded into place, seen here with temporary cribbing to hold it firm. Structural laminations are next, followed by the outer stringer and cross walls all with fiberglass laminations.
