A helicopter maintenance company needed to replace a fairing on the tailboom gearbox of a customized airframe. We were asked to build a mold and produce parts able to service the high temperature ranges required for this service. This part was built with a combination of epoxy resin and fiberglass where the temperature was the highest, and a vinylester resin and fiberglass layup for the outer skin. The parts were finished in a primer gel coat to be painted to match the aircraft.
